Positive Reflection

I connected to Amal Academy with a thought in mind to improve my skills like confidence, communication, and other related skills. I didn’t know how Amal is proceeding and provide opportunities for potential candidates to explore themselves. Another goal of the Amal career-prep program is to provide assistance, guidance, and opportunity to create and follow a career path, to provide consultancy and training.

Amal career-prep fellowship is a Stanford University and PepsiCo funded 3-months long professional development program for university students or anyone looking for a job or an internship. The ultimate goal of this program is to make you a successful professional and more importantly a successful human being. It focuses on key soft skills like teamwork, English, Communication, leadership, confidence and skills which you can use in your day to day life.

No doubt, I have learned a lot throughout the fellowship, but one thing that impacted my life is teamwork. I used to prefer to work alone at my earliest, and I thought working alone is better than working in a team because of problems and issues arising in the group. Fellowship changed my mind that working in a team can work with efficiency and gain a competitive advantage.

New ME after Amal.

a) Confidence:

Interaction with different people and coming out of the comfort zone made me more confident than before about my opinions and views.

b) Self awareness:

It helped me to know my inner talent, my skills, my weaknesses, my goals and various tips to achieve them.

c) Professionalism:

Amal academy conducts weekly online sessions as well as one-on-one sessions for the assessment of fellows, in which the fellows use to practice various activities that help them in becoming more professional.

d) Personal development:

Amal provided me an opportunity to work in different groups that allowed me to learn from the experiences of my fellows.

e)Destructing my comfort zone:

Amal academy got me realised that comfort zone, as somebody said, is a drug. To achieve something you will have to destruct it. You will have to believe in yourself and you will persevere. You will have to move forward with a positive growth mindset and only in this way you can achieve your ultimate goals.

f)Cherishing happiness always:

Amal fellowship enabled me of how to find happiness in small moments of life and how to facilitate others by our small act of kindness. Everyone is unique in their own way therefore; we must not compare our life with that of others to search for happiness. In fact, positive thinking is a decision that we make and not something that comes through genetics or outside factors.

Lastly, one thing that I want to mention is that Amal team put their full potential on teaching us the real-world scenarios. The way they conducted sessions, made sessions interactive, and conducted activities remarkable.

I am “New Me”. Over the course of this fellowship I have a totally new take on things I was unaware of.

Thank you.
